This is a family favorite of ours and I just had to share it with you! Are you ready???
First of all when baking in the kitchen I like to set out all of my ingredients first.
Here is what you will need for this recipe:
1 cup of flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 c butter flavor shortening
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup water
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 cups oatmeal (I like to use old fashioned Quaker Oats)
1 – 10 ounce bag of chocolate chips (optional)
ice cream of your choice
Okay let’s BAKE!
First add all of those ingredients into your mixer. This recipe is easy and you don’t have to separate or anything. Just throw it all in!
Once you have have your cookie mix done, make sure you taste it to be sure its to your satisfaction. wink, wink. (its the best cookie dough around y’all, and I you may not eat cookie for fear of getting sick but I like to take my chances. haha! )
Time to use your Ramekins
You will need ramekins to make these Kazookies. Be sure to spray them with some Pam Baking spray.
Next add 3 cookie scoops of cookie dough to each ramekin.
Place the ramekins on a cookie sheet and place them on the middle rack of your oven. Cook at 350 degrees for 16-20 min.
Here’s what makes this summer dessert so fabulous!
After you take them out of the oven let them cool for about 5 minutes. You want to serve these warm to your guests and may want to place your ramekin on a small plate to avoid any messy spills. Don’t be alarmed when you see the cookie sink a little in the ramekin. That is completely normal. You may also warm them up in the microwave later if you need to make these more in advance.
Now it’s time to complete this fabulous summer dessert with some delicious toppings! First add one scoop of your favorite ice cream on top of the cookie in the ramekin. Our favorite is either vanilla or cookie dough ice cream.
This is why you want your Kazookie warm before adding the toppings. It just makes it sooooooo good when the ice cream melts a little bit.
Ok next add your whipping cream. Add as little or more that your little heart desires. Then to top it off add some delicious summer berries and TADA!!! You have yourself the most delicious summer dessert there ever was! haha!
First this oatmeal cookie recipe is amazing for just your every day delicious cookies which I love. Especially when I add a bag of chocolate chips to the dough.
And for another good twist for the Kazookie that’s SUPER easy if you’re in a hurry is just buy the pre-made Nestle Toll House chocolate chip cookie dough and use that and vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate syrup and sprinkles. There are so many wonderful delicious options you could use for this fun and easy recipe.
